My Students

I teach in a Title I school in rural South Carolina. My students love PE and enjoy physical activity but we lack proper equipment.

Every day my students come into the gym and ask, "What are we going to do today Coach Lever?!" And with proper equipment, my answers could be endless!

Many of our students live in apartments and public housing, meaning they don't have the opportunity to participate in team sports. PE is the way to bridge the gap!

My Project

Each piece of equipment I have requested already has a purpose. It's just waiting to be put into action! This cart consists of equipment that will be implemented into our program to directly enhance each student's motor skill development.

All elementary students from PreK thru 5th grade need constant practice and repetition as they progress through their personal development.

This equipment will do that. All students will now be able to consistently get the reps they need to master each skill.

The great thing about the equipment I've chosen is that it can impact each grade level; from poly spots to the crawling tunnel, each student can and will be able to master each skill. This in turn, allows them more confidence and courage moving forward into higher levels of school and into the world of athletics.

I as a Physical Education teacher and coach understand that PE isn't for everyone and all students won't be inclined to participate as others. But I think it's my job to put each student in the best possible situation to build confidence and skill during each activity we do. This equipment will allow all students to exhibit courage and confidence while feeling at ease in a comfortable setting that promotes success!
