Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title I school where not every household has access to an electronic device other than a cell phone. During distance learning, families that are able to participate in the Zoom sessions in their homes try their best but I’ve learned how difficult it is to keep students engaged in virtual schoolwork just through basic Zoom sessions.

With their limited technology and attention span, these early childhood learners need to be given the best opportunities to help them become successful lifelong learners.

We need to be able to close the gap in helping them catch up to the opportunities afforded to the more affluent children in our community and in the nation.

My Project

As a new school year draws near with so much uncertainty, one thing is still a constant, the need to educate children. Whether we continue to educate remotely for a short time or for the entire school year, an I-pad is a tool that can be used to reach children of all ages. For the early childhood student, an I-pad along with an apple pencil can be used by a teacher to model lessons that are essential in the student's development.

The I-pad along with an Apple pencil, are tools that allow a teacher to reach the early childhood learner through distance learning, while captivating their young minds.

This technology can be used to engage the young minds with vivid graphics. Together with the Apple pencil, a teacher can easily model a lesson for both the student and the parent engaged in the online learning experience.
