This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Welcome to the music classroom! I teach music in a high needs area with over 70% of students on free and reduced lunches. I am the luckiest person in the school because I get to work with all 400 students in the building (k-5) including a large special ed population and several bilingual classrooms.

I was recently blessed by someone donating an overhead projector to the music classroom so I can supplement lessons with visuals ALL students can see. However I am UNABLE to use my overhead projector because I do not have a cart or materials to go with it, so my overhead is not getting used.

I need an overhead projector cart with overhead markers and transparencies. I will be able to SAVE so many trees around holiday program time because instead of printing mass amounts I will only need to make ONE copy and put it on the overhead. With my supplies I will be able to transition through holiday songs much faster so my little time with each class isn't wasted on me giving them directions on which paper is next and passing papers out.

YOU will make it possible for all 400 students I teach to learn music in an engaging way. With the overhead and cart I will be able to teach more than just songs, I will be able to do rhythmic and melodic activities with them, where they are WRITING music. You will also make it possible for me to empower my students with more individual accountability and free my eyes up so I can be watching students to help keep them on task.
