My Students

My students come into school eager and ready to learn every day. Most of my students come from low-income households, and they all receive free breakfast and lunch. We are working very hard this school year to improve our academic progress, especially our literacy performance. My students are working hard to help achieve our goals this school year.

Art class gives my little artists the brain break they need throughout the day.

We are still learning about different artists, different art mediums, as well as different cultures. Our environment is a little bit more relaxed then their classrooms. My students are learning to become problem solvers, thinkers, and dreamers. I am amazed by their imagination and creativity every single day. Please help me bring their imaginations to life through their artworks!

My Project

My students love coming to art class. We've been having a lot of fun creating art with our dry materials such as crayons and colored pencils..but we are bored! They ask me everyday if we are painting today and my response always has to be that we are still waiting for our supplies. We were promised art materials in the beginning of the year, but sadly they have not come in yet. So we decided to take matters into our own hands!

There is so much a child can learn through painting.

There is so much I want to teach them about color theory and let them have fun mixing new colors as they are creating their masterpieces. However, we do not have the paint in order to do so. My students need tempera paint, watercolor paint, and oil pastels to make some masterpieces! Having paint in our classroom opens up a world of possibilities and will really get our creative juices flowing!
