My Students

I have just met my students for this year- and only via screen, but I adore them so much already!!!! They are so eager every day to get onto our zoom sessions. They come prepared and ready to learn!! It just warms my heart!

The neighborhood for my Title One school is one of very diverse cultures, ethnicities, and economic backgrounds.

Some kids have been to preschool and have had experience with school tools and technology. Others have never been to school or used and iPad. I want my learning sessions to bring them together using the same tools and working together as a family.

This project will provide me with a technology tool that will allow me to show the students exactly what I am working on with my hands so I can assist them with cutting gluing, drawing, manipulating objects, and so much more. They can watch me and learn how to develop these crucial skills correctly.

My Project

My students and I have only met via Zoom sessions, and everything that needs to be taught and learned is so much more difficult trying to experience it on screen. This tender young age needs lots and lots of hands-on practice to develop their fine motor skills which are crucial for writing and so many other things as they move on in their educational journey.

A document camera would allow me to share exactly what I am doing while I model so many skills and techniques needed to be successful during this precious year of kindergarten.

I could easily model printing, cutting and gluing. I could model the use of math manipulatives for adding, subtracting, comparing numbers and so much more. The uses are actually endless.
