My students use an online based mathematics program. Some concepts of math are difficult for them to understand without being able to physically manipulate pieces when multiplying fraction, or multiplying multi-digit numbers. I provide students with math tutoring after school three days per week, and instead of continuing using the online platform for math, I would like to get some hands-on activities for students to really grasp the concepts.
Using the Discovery Cans we can visit all the different standards and practice something new each week, or day depending on how well the students have learned the concepts!
Another way I would use the resource is during math instruction to create centers for students to get time away from their screens to work with a partner while practicing their math skills.
