Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach bilingual special education. My students make me laugh with their ideas and jokes. I teach a range of kindergarten to fifth grade. Each student is unique in their own way with a set of different skills. Their disability does not define them, and they know I am on their side. My students all speak Spanish and English, sometimes they mix it and it turns to Spanglish. All of my students are loved, and they may have rough home lives, but I know they feel safe, heard, and included in my classroom.
My Project
Using an iPad in education is important because it reduces the need for paper and ink. When schools are out of ink for the printers, it hurts teachers and all the worksheets/games we use to help our students succeed. With the use of an iPad in my classroom, my students will be able to write on it and I will be able to track the progress without the need for paper. I will be able to share with parents and other teachers what our students are able to do with the swipe of a finger. This year has been rough on many schools and I cannot imagine the possibilities an iPad brings to a class especially my class in the bilingual special education setting.
