Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a school, in Upper Manhattan. The students are very inquisitive and active. They have a desire to learn more, and sometimes we have a hard time keeping up with them. Our students are predominantly Latino and African American.

Our school is pre-k through fifth grade, and we have many activities that keep the teachers and students busy.

I am the technology "go to" person, and a fellow school donated 77 laptops to our school. Yes donated "77"!

As education and technology are merging, we have to keep up with the evolution of learning. Technology is important in aiding our teachers in giving more detailed math, writing, reading, social studies, and music lessons for all the students.

My Project

One morning we got a phone call from another school. They told us they had laptops they wanted to donate to us. We gladly accepted the donation. After updating the laptops it is now time to get them ready for students to use; however, there are some items missing. Headphones.

We will use the headphones so student can do English and Math lessons on the website called iReady.

The student will practice listening skills and they need headphones to hear the lessons. Headphones will complete the laptop setup and move our Technology program forward. Let's help our students move forward and help them move to the next level.
