My Students

I work with fifteen, wonderful Special Education/Intellectual Disability students who are very low or non-readers. Many of my students receive Speech and Language Services, as well as Adapted PE. My students come from low socio-economic backgrounds and as a result, have limited resources. However, their parents are extremely supportive and they make sure my students log in on Zoom daily. I love that my students are generous, caring, motivated to learn, and enjoy coming to school everyday. My students are the reason that I have been at my school for twenty-five years. They motivate me to be a better teacher and person.

My Project

My students are motivated to learn and enjoy the process of learning daily. The headphones will alleviate some of the challenges they face when learning from home. Many of my students share a space with a sister or brother who are also doing virtual learning.

This will help them focus on what is being taught in their class, and give them some privacy while focusing on their work.

I believe that more efficient learning environments will enable my students to be more independent and motivate them to be lifelong learners.
