My Students

There is something special about the students in my school and in my classroom. These students are independent, protective, and eager. Students whom I spend time with day in and day out, come from very low-income families and from very diverse backgrounds. These students need the support and rapport from the individuals who interact with them daily within the school community. Based on the high needs of these students, each school day can be challenging but rewarding.

Each student in my classroom is very eager to learn and to grow; however, with the challenges they face outside of the classroom, they need extra support within the classroom.

My Project

As an impact of COVID-19, teachers are beginning to plan and prepare for the unknown. We are currently living in a time where each day is different and we are unsure of what tomorrow will hold. It has made an ever-changing impact on the way that teachers teach and care for their students.

As a teacher I am planning to incorporate virtual learning into our school day so students will be better prepared for online learning.

Students will need reliable access to headphones so that they can actively focus and participate in virtual activities. I am also planning to spend time doing more dry erase marker/board activities, rather than paper pencil as a way to cut back on the spread of germs.
