My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds. While I teach in a predominantly white school we are seeing an increase in our minority population. We have students from Syria, Bosnia, and the Congo just to name a few. My students are fun, energetic, and eager to learn. They are responsible and work hard.

Our students strive to be the best version of themselves.

They exhibit strong character, compassion, and respect for each other. These qualities make for a successful educational experience.

My Project

It is proven that when a child feels safe, comfortable, and represented in the classroom their chance of success greatly increases. I want to build a library in every classroom full of diverse books that represent all of my students. I want every child to be able to open a book and see themselves on the pages.

I believe that it is important to educate our children on race, cultural differences, disabilities, and all the wonderful things that make us who we are.

In doing so we raise empathetic, compassionate, self confident, and strong children who can change the world.
