My Project

Our room currently has 5 students of varying age and ability on the spectrum. I truly believe if they can’t learn the way we teach… we teach the way they learn.

Social and Emotional activities and games help students learn to recognize their emotions, teach them different ways to self regulate and promotes peer interaction.

Visual timers help our students know what to expect and gives them a visual of the time needed for each task. The additional supplies will help us make task boxes for independent work such as sorting, matching, and counting to match items to a given number.

The students have such a sense of pride when they are able to complete an assigned task box independently. I have seen how social/emotional activities positively affect these students and hope that with additional resources they will continue to grow and develop their self regulation skills.
