Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Kindergarten spaces and materiality (materiality includes play materials, tools and toys) can be vital for children’s exploration of participation and the physical environment enables children to interact and position themselves in play and meaning making.

Change is inevitable in childhood, so children need to feel able to manage it.

Positive experiences of coping with small daily changes, as well as knowing where the tools they need are will help them to face the big transitions. The clear storage containers will make it easy to find the resources they’ll need. The trays will help them keep their writing tools handy. And the bench will give them the choice to seat either on the carpet or the bench.

My students come to school eager and ready to learn despite the challenges they might be facing. I want them to know they have the tools and space they need to grow in every possible way.
