Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I want the children in my class to work on an autobiography project where they will describe themselves, their families and interests. Along with a book that they will create of All About Me, I also want them to be able to use these craft materials to make dolls of themselves now and then of what they would like to be when they grow up. These craft materials will allow my students to express themselves more realistically as they are of all colors and backgrounds.

In a harsh world where we have seen hatred and cruelty, I want to create a classroom environment where my students feel safe to express themselves and learn about who they are.

I want all of the students to value and embrace the color of their skin, where they are from and how to spread acceptance and love with one another.

These materials will give my students the chance to share with their peers and the school community who they are, where they are from, what they love about themselves and what they want to be when they grow up.
