My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher in a Title I community school.

My classroom is often their first time in school and I would like to be able to provide my students with the basics that they will need to start their educational journey and make each one of them feel welcomed and special as they enter my classroom.

My Project

By creating a library that is rich in racial equity and diversity, all of my students will know that they are welcomed here. They will know that our library is open and shelved with books that envelope their ethnicity, heritage and economic status. I want all of my students to see their faces on books, hear their voice in stories and know they all matter. Having books available that a child can relate to, fosters a love for reading because they connect. I need your help to create this Love of Reading for All!
