This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I serve an amazing group of culturally and linguistically diverse Kindergarten students. This year we have started a new literacy curriculum with a science content focus.

My students are eager, willing, and looking for equitable opportunities to be successful.

My students are part of a Dual Language program with bilingual and bi-literate end goals in English and Spanish. My students are held to high expectations with strong language, literacy, science, and cultural competence learning goals. In order to accomplish these goals my students need to be well equipped with learning materials in our classroom. It is my goal to equip my students with all the necessary materials for them to be able to accomplish all their goals and have a very successful first year.

My Project

Our young learners do better when they can have hands-on experiences included with their daily science inquiry and through structured play.

I am requesting science materials which will help enrich the learning done during our science exploration time and centers.

Students will become immersed into becoming young scientists and see for themselves how science inquiry is fun.

These materials will help my students explore and make deeper connections and understandings as they become experts in science content and inquiry. Students will use the materials in small groups during exploration and experimentation. Students will also have a science station as a center during structured play to build independent inquiry time, as well as to engage them in fun science experiments.
