Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is Title One and is located in a predominately Hispanic area. My students are faced with many obstacles both in and out of the classroom. Despite all the obstacles they face, their parents are very supportive and willing to help make a difference in their lives.
My students love school.
They are eager to get their hands-on their next learning adventure. They are willing and able to try just about anything related to their learning. They love to discuss things that they learn about and the books that they read with us during morning meeting. More importantly, my students want to be loved and to belong. My goal is to show them that they matter in a world this big and that they are destined for greatness.

My Project
Children are growing into young adults a lot sooner these days. My third graders often come to school without having taken care of some of their basic needs. This year I would love to be able to offer my students and other students from the school a friendly space where they feel comfortable enough to get the basic health/hygiene items.
Basic hygiene should be taught to children at an early age to help establish good habits.
This past year, I had parents ask me for help with teaching their children proper hygiene habits and I did my best with what I had in the classroom to teach them ways to remedy certain situations. Some of my students complained of bullying because of body odor. This year with your help, I'm hoping to build their confidence by having all items necessary for a successful hygienic school year.
