My Project

Through meeting my students this year, I have come to learn much about them. They love a good prize, such as candies, when they are doing great things in class but more specifically, the worry of coming to school without appropriate personal hygiene products and the possibility of an empty stomach all day. Their learning cannot occur if their confidence and well-being needs are not met.

Students should come to the classroom knowing they’ll have a community that takes care of their well-being as well as their education.

This can be done through having access to personal hygiene products, which help them to feel confident while knowing my class has what is needed if there is a problem throughout the day. Taking care of all student’s needs allows them to flourish with confidence and without the fear of inadequacy. When students feel their basic needs are met, they can focus on growing into bigger things academic or not.

Please consider helping me jump-start my own “Hygiene Drawer” for my students and for students to come. I hope to find out more about my students' needs and do my best to help them. I will always support students in their academic areas AND their well-being areas. Thank you.
