Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There's no place like school. For my students school is a safe haven, a place where they can let their creativity shine. At our school students express themselves through the arts. They engage in dance, art, drama and music. My scholars are full of energy and eager to learn.

We are a Title I school located in the heart of Brownsville, Brooklyn.

When my scholars walk through the doors at 7:30am, they are busy and ready to learn. We are the first charter school in NYC and New York state to become a Leader in Me Light house school. We don't only focus on academics, we also focus on character. My students learn how to be risk takers, they learn how to show empathy, and they learn the importance of being principled. They are our future world leaders, and they know it!

My Project

Learning remotely is difficult. Transitioning between remote and in person learning is complicated, but with these materials my scholars won't miss a beat.

These materials will allow my students to visualize and interact with new concepts both in school and at home via remote learning.

They will also allow students to practice their skills in fun, safe ways. These items help target various learning styles. The large magnetic tools are great for visual and kinesthetic learners. The pocket folders allow students to write and share their ideas, and also make corrections if needed.

This year will bring with it many changes, but these materials can help make learning consistent and fun!
