Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are Television Production vocational students who will get industry jobs in the future. Most are Hispanic and have chosen our school as their school of choice. The community is a largely lower middle class Hispanic community in the north west section of Miami Dade County, Florida. The age groups are 14 - 17 years of age and they are chosen to come to this school. It is part of a four year program allowing the student to graduate with an Industry Certificate as well as a Program completer.

My Project

Student have just experienced one of the largest hurricanes to hit all of Florida and need to document their feelings and concerns as well as their personal experiences. By shooting video interviews and combining personal photos, the student will try and express their experiences.

Allowing students who have gone through the ordeal of Hurricane Irma to express their personal trials and how the got through them will help all to get back to a normal life.

In today's technological society it becomes imperative that students learn to communicate through the use of digital cameras and other computer software. With this purchase we can start collecting stories of Hurricane Irma for know and in the future.
