Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a Title I School; we are located in a low income neighborhood. They are eager to learn but lack the necessary supplies. School starts in August, and parents struggle to purchase supplies or even uniforms.

My students are hungry not for food but for knowledge.

They come to school with hopes and dreams. I want to enhance their dreams by increasing their knowledge. Fifth grade is a crossroads for my students as they are on their way to middle school. My students enjoy working on workstations.

My Project

Today I write this project not knowing how my children will return to school. I am asking for basic supplies such as pencils, pens, tape and paper. We are in dire need of basic necessities such hand sanitizer, Kleenex and first aid kits. I am also requesting snacks. I want to be able to give them a little something when I see them in my classroom. I want to be able to provide students with school supplies such as tape, pencils, and folders. We also need bookends, cubbies for storage, and a whiteboard. We have a start day of September 11, 2017 as Hurricane Harvey has devastated us tremendously. We hope you can help me give my students what they need.
