My Project

This year I'm teaching Freshman biology, Anatomy and Physiology AND AP biology. With so many different labs to set up, additional glassware like beakers and graduated cylinders are in short supply. These basics will ensure all get to have hands on experiences in the lab.

I'm excited to teach my AP students about genetic inheritance of genetic diseases as they separate DNA using gel electrophoresis using the Huntington's Disease Detection Kit and utilizing the gel boxes I received from Donor's Choose last year.

Pivot Interactive is an online site that allows students to view labs being conducted so they can collect and analyze data on experiments being done onscreen using equipment we don't have. They can 'run' experiments on cellular respiration, photosynthesis, population dynamics and so much more. I began using this during the pandemic and have found the activities are excellent resources when teaching in person also.

These kits, and supplies, and online labs bring a new level of excitement and understanding to my budding scientists. Thank you for considering a donation to help me make this a reality.
