My Students

The students in my class are full of energy, excitement to learn, and enthusiasm. They come from widely diverse cultures and speak various languages, and many of their families are struggling economically. Many of our classmates bring their unique special needs into our classroom community, and we all work together to be successful, well-rounded kindergartners.

They are a community of learners where everyone is a valued self-manager and has a voice.

Everyone is respected and welcomed. Our school is in the state of Washington. It is culturally diverse with 80% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunches. Over 50% of our students are English language learners.

My Project

These snacks will be used to supplement our daily snack time which ensures that every student has a snack to fuel their bodies during our long school day.

Being at a Title I school, many of my students rely on breakfast and lunch served by the school.

We have such long school days for young kindergartners, that my students are hungry between meals. We have snack time twice a day to help keep their bodies and minds focused on being successful learners. Having support to provide snack for our grade level takes a large stress off our plates and gives us the extra time/funds to put towards learning activities.
