Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Currently, my students are planning on attaining a career in the medical field and are currently taking Health Occupations. Most of my students are in the ninth grade and are eager to learn and have hands-on activities.

Our students are energetic and passionate about medicine.

They are applying diverse teaching methods to ensure that all of the learners in our classroom are benefitting from the lessons. Visual, kinesthetic and auditory learners are all addressed within our classroom.

These students work hard, help others and are excited to be at school learning all about medical careers.

My Project

Students will work in groups and do research on one of the assigned body systems. Research will focus on the structure and functions of the major organs in the assigned body system. All projects will be posted, in our classroom, on our dry erase boards using dry erase magnetic tape.

Each group will be responsible for making a human-size drawing on white butcher paper that will be used in the presentation.

On the butcher paper, the organs must be labeled and colored with either makers or color pencils.

On a separate sheet of paper, they will list the organs in their assigned system and give a brief description of the organs, list five diseases associated with your assigned body system, and list three fun facts regarding your assigned body system.

Hopefully, all supplies needed for the project (scissors, color pencils, sharpener rulers and makers) will be found inside the rolling cabinets with drawers in our classroom.
