My Students

The students from our school come from all walks of life, integrating together to be a part of a community to learn about construction trades, engineering, and architecture. The students I specifically serve are in tenth grade learning digital electronics and basic engineering concepts. I also work with a group of students from all our school's majors on a FIRST robotics team.

Our school is a Title I school, which means that 40% or more of our students live below the poverty line.

Our school population consists of 36% Hispanic or Latino, 31% Asian or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander, 12% White, 9% Black or African American, 8% Multiracial, and 4% American Indian or Alaska Native.

My Project

Our students are first-generation Americans who deal with adversity on a daily basis. Having the proper safety equipment and tools will open doors for them they might not have known would exist if not for this program.

Our students will be using these materials during our lessons so that we can ensure they are using the equipment safely and in an appropriate manner.

Students will be competing in person for FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Robotics competition this year. Gaining hands-on knowledge and experience in the classroom just will not teach.

Students will also be holding workshops for teams in the area in addition to elementary and middle school students in FIRST LEGO League programs.
