Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a second year teacher and recent graduate of Texas Southern University. I am also an active member of ATPE (Association of Texas Professional Educators) working as a campus representative. I work in the Greater Southwest Houston area for Houston Independent School District. second year. The majority of my student population is Hispanic and African American. My school is a Title I school. My goal is to continue our campus garden project to give our students beautify our campus and also bring about a connection within our community.

My Project

We are in need of supplies to rebuild our campus garden. Our students are eager and ready to began the beautification of our campus. We have a few supplies on campus but with your help we can get things started faster. It will also give our students a change to build a love for science not only in the classroom but outside the classroom as well. We also want to involve our community members to assist in keeping our campus beautiful. We also want to show our students the importance of living a healthy lifestyle by growing your own fruits and vegetables. Support our students in making healthy decisions!
