How a Library Works: Literature & History Working Together

Help me give my students a great classroom library! I'm a 1st-year ELA teacher, coming in from university teaching. These items will help our books last longer and fill title requests from the students.

My Project

I have a extensive range of reading, comprehension, & fluency abilities. When I see a struggling student look for or request a book, my heart swells. Additionally, I host the 5th - 6th grade Book Club for advanced readers.

I teach from 4th - 8th grade writing & ELA, so I love that many of my students have requested certain titles or series of books.

Some of the titles they've asked for are Lord of the Rings, 39 Clues, and To All the Boys I've Loved Before.

I have requested the book tape, book binding, and clear plastic sleeves to help preserve the books for future use. I really want to share the experiences of my younger years with them by having them fill out the library cards to "check out" books.
