Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Harvey connected people and families together. We came collectively to help all people that were impacted in our great city of Houston. Now we are in the process of healing and rebuilding to get us back on track. Families priority now is normalcy . It has been very difficult and slow process yet, we are doing everything we can to support and help families through this transitional time.

Families now need opportunities to invest and empower in their scholars learning through literacy and math.

Scholars yearn for hands-on explorations that will facilitate thinking and learning. I am seeking innovative ways to teach my scholars and families ways to connect the whole child and continue encouraging them to love school and teach families that education breaks barriers.

Ninety percent of our scholars qualify for free or reduced price lunch, which means that they are living either on or below the poverty level, as well as having English as a second language spoken in the home. Despite scholars living in poverty and having a high population of students with special needs, scholars have the willingness to be a successful everyday in every way.

My Project

What better way to connect with families through showing them what their young scholar is working on at school by requesting Lakeshore Literacy and Math Family Packs to help them facilitate and manage what we are teaching in education everyday.

Parents want to be that vital part of their child's education.

Partnering up with families have become a goal of mine because if makes an effective part of a scholar's learning experience.

After conferencing with the parent, the invitation will be to help and facilitate learning through checking out one of the Lakeshore resource bags. This will be the positive balance between the home-school connection. As we rebuild in our city, I want scholars to have as many learning experiences in a safe and welcoming environment between school and where they may live at this time. Thank you in advance for your consideration in our project.
