The students that I see each day in my three fifth grade classrooms come from a very small, rural farming town. More than fifty percent of our four hundred students are on our free or reduced-price lunch program. We have students from all types of homes from diverse backgrounds.
My students never cease to amaze me with what they can and have overcome.
They are sweet, beautiful souls who deserve my very best, and that is what I strive to give them each and every day.
My Project
I have requested some organizational items and a microwave to help my students each day. The organization items will be used in the student center to help organize the school supplies I provide for my kiddos each day. Many of my students cannot afford schools supplies, and some just simply cannot keep up with their supplies. By having an organized student center with supplies provided for them each day, they will begin the class with the confidence needed to embrace their daily learning! The microwave will be for students to use before their lunch each day as needed. Many of my students bring their lunch from home and currently have no way to heat it up before heading to the cafeteria each day. With your help, I can provide them with a quick and easy way to have a nice hot lunch daily!
