Help Ms. Goodfriend

I am a kindergarten teacher in an ethnically diverse neighborhood. I have 30 students including some new refugees who just moved to the area.

I was thrilled when I found out this would be the first year my school would have a full day kindergarten program. With the extra time, I have been able to do so much with my students this year. While we spend a huge portion of the day on phonics and reading, I also spend a lot of time on math. My students are picking up very quickly and I have just recently introduced addition to them. My students learn best by hands on activities.

As soon as I saw the Number Line Math Activity Chart, I knew my students would go wild about it. With some of my students knowing limited English, this is exactly the type of visual and hands on activity that will reach all my students. In addition, I have requested number line practice books to further challenge my higher level thinking students.

My school has made great strides in the past year and I am happy to be part of that surge of academic success. Please help my students become great achievers. It is so important to reach children at a young age and keep them interested in school.
