This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In this project I am asking for items to help start off the new school year. I have included new headphones as many of the ones I had last year became damaged by the end of the year. Our school is lucky enough to have Chromebooks for each of the students to use. Therefore I need students to have their own headphones, so when they're working on their computers it isn't distracting to others. I am also asking for a new pencil sharpener, crayon sharpener, contact paper, and colored masking tape as just basic supplies to have in my room that I use every year and need refreshing.

I have decided to implement morning stem bins in my classroom this year.

These will be put out during morning arrival for students to use freely to encourage hands on learning, experimentation, and imagination as well as a time for students to be social with their table mates. My goal is to have a bin for each table and extras to eventually rotate throughout the year. I think this stem bin routine will help foster a more joyful, interactive morning for my students. Many students often come in not ready to start the day from something that happened the night before or on the way to school. I hope that by providing them time to build and play before starting their academic work it will create a smoother rest of the day.
