My Students

Our classroom community includes all 4 year old students who come from various cultural, socio-economic and racial backgrounds. It is made up of 20 students who love learning through hands-on experiences!

My preschool students are always asking big questions and wondering about the world around them.

They are eager to learn new information and their curiosity goes beyond the walls of our classroom. They are excited to come to school every day, and they leave our classroom at the end of the day with big smiles and lots of new learned information.

My Project

As we all know, things are going to be looking very different as we begin the new school year. Instead of the excitement of back to school shopping, many parents are struggling to purchase food and necessary household items in addition to worrying about how to pay the rent each month. During these unprecedented times, our wish is to help our students and their parents as much as we can with getting their child ready and excited for the new school.

For many of my students, this is going to be the first time they will be attending school and we would love them to have a great fresh start!

It is going to be different trying to crate a classroom community virtually therefore purchasing the materials will help us connect with our students in a personal level. Every other week, we will be sending them new materials in their backpacks such as the clip boards, books, white erase markers etc. Also, with the help of these backpacks, our students will be able to send notes and drawings back to us in their backpack so we can stay connected.

I am writing this grant on behalf of both of our preschool programs in our school in hopes that all of our new preschool students will get a chance to have the same materials as we start the new school year. We are ecstatic to meet all of our new students and their families. Help us make this "unusual" new school year extra special for them!
