This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am asking for headphones with microphones for my students. With these headphones my students are able to hear their computer only and not everyone else's. My students currently use their reading and math applications on their computer and are often distracted by the noise cause by all other computers in the classroom. They will be able to better hear what they're being asked to do and better understand their reading stories. In their reading app they need to record themselves reading and most of the time their recording is very poor due to them not being close enough to their computer mic and the noise caused by the classroom. With microphones in their headphones they will have the mic close to their mouth and they can have a clear and better recording of their reading skills. I will be able to hear an accurate recording of their reading and I can help them become better readers.

What makes my students special is that they are always very eager to learn and participate!

We are in a Title 1 school so a lot of the time we have to do the best we can with what we are given. Even with bad weather or low resources my students show up to school because they're excited to learn and like to be in school. The classroom can get a bit loud when using these applications due to their excitement and them trying to get better and clear recordings. That is why these headphones would be very helpful and it will get them even more excited to use their math and reading applications.
