My Students

Every day my students enter a safe, clean and friendly environment where they are able to flourish academically and be provided with government sponsored breakfast, lunch and snacks. Our school is a haven from a high crime neighborhood where lock downs and emergency sirens are common. Despite the outside environment these students know that they are our nation's future and though very young recognize their need for an education. Educating them for tomorrow's challenges needs to be addressed with today's technology.

My Project

Dinosaurs, continents, elections and healthy foods are a few of the things that my students individually research with their iPads. Individual work is the key here and my students need headphones to do their own research as well as watch educational videos. .

When my students are doing their individual iPad work, it allows me the opportunity to work with small groups for enrichment or intervention for those who need the reteaching of skills.

Headphones are great for kids because it allows them to do activities on their own without being distracted by the high volume of their neighbor's tablet.
