My Project

As a licensed clinical social worker and former basketball player, I am thrilled to present an exciting new after-school program, Hoops & Harmony, designed specifically for young girls in grades 3rd through 8th. This innovative program combines basketball skill-building with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), offering a unique and holistic experience that nurtures both physical and emotional growth with the requested women’s basketballs, cones, pinnies, journals, and water bottles.

Hoops & Harmony is not just about basketball—it's about fostering confidence, resilience, and essential life skills that will serve these young athletes on and off the court.

What the Program Offers:

Basketball Skill-Building

Our basketball sessions focus on developing key athletic techniques, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Through fun, engaging drills and games, participants will build their basketball skills while gaining physical strength, confidence, and a love for the game.

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)

In addition to basketball, we incorporate SEL activities that focus on essential life skills, including:

Self-Efficacy: Helping girls develop a belief in their abilities and potential.

School Safety & Belonging: Creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every girl feels valued and connected.

Teamwork & Communication: Teaching collaboration, empathy, and effective communication skills.

Resilience: Building the strength to persevere through challenges and setbacks with a positive mindset.

Why Hoops & Harmony?

This program blends the physical benefits of sports with the emotional and social benefits of SEL, offering a well-rounded approach to personal development. Girls will not only become stronger athletes but will also develop the critical social and emotional tools to navigate the challenges of growing up—whether in school, at home, or in their communities.

By supporting Hoops & Harmony, you are helping young girls build confidence, resilience, and teamwork—skills that will empower them throughout their lives. Join us in creating a space where every girl has the opportunity to thrive, both on the court and beyond.

Ms. Gregory will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by May 15.
