Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every year, I have the privilege of teaching Honors English language arts to advanced seventh graders. In this class, we engage with a variety of a dynamic and rigorous texts that challenge them to access classic literature in new and meaningful ways. Students are always surprised by how relevant these classics can be! I love seeing students excited to come to class and read Shakespeare, or how relevant Steinbeck's representation of the oppressed still resonates today.

In an age in which students are constantly bombarded with media, the printed word is more precious than ever.

Thank you for your help in getting great pieces of literature into the hands of my students. I am excited and grateful!
