My Students

My students are from an inner city school which is Title I. They attend a school where 100% of the students receive free lunch, and approximately 40% of the students are homeless. My students are eager to learn the game of softball and be competitive in our state.

Many of my students live in high poverty communities.

Playing softball provide my players as safe activity in a safe environment. The surrounding community offers plenty of dangerous and unhealthy influences. As teachers, we have noticed an increase in academic performance for those students that participate in athletics. My goal to provide them with the tools and opportunities to match their eagerness to be academically successful.

My Project

This project will help our student athletes by providing them with practice and safety equipment after the devastation left by Hurricane Harvey. The items on our project list include additional supplies the students may not be able to afford on their own.

Your donations will make playing the game of softball safer and more fun for our student athletes.

Our pitchers will use the masks to protect them from batted balls. The team will again have equipment bags to be more organized and look more uniformed when attending games. The hand-held pitching machine will help make our practices more efficient and allow batting practice without electricity.
