Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are imaginative and knowledge-hungry. Many of them are from low-income households and it can be difficult to obtain simple school supplies. They use what is available at home such as markers and crayons. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

My Project

Yes, our students have been learning remotely through their Chromebooks, however many of them still need the writing experience. Being able to provide the basics of pencils, pens, pencil sharpeners, erasers, and a pencil box to keep organized will make a difference.

Many of my students do their work on their dining room tables and providing a pencil box where they can keep their writing supplies will help them keep track of their belongings.

While teaching remotely this past spring semester many of my students didn’t have pencils or didn’t have a pencil sharpener. They would ask for permission to use markers and crayons because they wanted to complete their work.
