My Students

I love the question "what makes your students special" knowing that everything is not the best answer but it is most certainly true. My students are eager to learn and want to do their best daily. Their confidence is contagious and they make teaching the best job around.

I teach at a Title I school with diverse students from all walks of life.

Many of the students receive free/reduced lunch and also receive "backpack buddies" which provides them with food and snacks for the weekend. Despite the challenges they may face, my students come to school ready to do their very best.

My Project

The materials requested in this project will change the reading culture and overall culture in our classroom. The "Who was", "Who is", "What was", and "What is" books are going to be used in the classroom to get students interested in nonfiction text. We will also be using these books to complete a fun and engaging end of the year project together!

The decor and books will change the overall feeling and excitement in the classroom!

The decor will be used to recreate more of a home feeling in our classroom. I want the classroom to be a place where students feel comfortable. I want this to be a place they want to be. By recreating a more home feeling, my students will know this is a place where they are safe and loved.
