Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are 8th graders in a public middle school. These students are typical youths who are finding their way in the world while, at the same time, striving for academic success. While balancing social lives and lives outside of school, these students come to school every day to work hard to be the best students they can be.

These students are the future.

However, they need some help to ensure they all work to their potential and stay on track. I want my students to remain inspired, to see the big picture, and to work to make their dreams come true. These are exceptional young people that I teach, and I truly believe that they all have the potential to do great things.

Our school serves students in grades 6-8 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment. As a result, we are very proud of all of our students' outstanding achievements. My personal goal as an English and history teacher aligns with our school goal of preparing our students for success in high school, college, and beyond.

I am always looking to improve myself as a teacher and the environment in which my students learn daily.

This project asks for supplies to help my classroom run in a way that is there for the students. Unfortunately, we are just embarking on allergy season, and I'm out of Kleenex. The school budget is short, and we are now going to be asked to supply our own printer paper. I'm also asking for new and engaging books so that ALL of my students can better see themselves in the curriculum and understand the relevancy of what they're being taught. All of these resources will help my classroom be a more effective environment for rigorous and relevant learning.
