My Students
My class is full of wonderful students eager to take on the world. The students in my fifth grade class love to learn and put forth their best effort. Inside the classroom they are able to come and feel safe. They have a place where they can escape from the challenges they face at home and in their community. Attending a school in a low income school area, some of their educational needs are not met because of lack of resources due to budget cuts. In school they are able to build positive relationships that will help them to be students that work together and appreciate the differences of others.
My Project
Students are learning from home because of the pandemic and lack the full resources that they would have at school. Providing students with a home library will allow them to develop in reading and benefit from having their own library available to them.
The books requested can support the development of a home library for not just the students in my classroom but the whole family.
Students that read at least thirty minutes a day improve their reading level significantly compare to students that do not. Providing students with books for home will allow them to gain a love for reading and have a sense of normalcy.
