Help me give my students a place to store their backpacks each day! My classroom is a converted space that once housed 2 small offices. With 30 students, it's very tight!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a highly enthusiastic and diverse group of learners! They come from wonderful families with a strong commitment to education, who will support their children as best as they can to achieve successfully in the classroom and in the future.
Unfortunately, as this is a Title I school, many students do not have academic support beyond what I provide in the classroom.
It is my job to make school as fun and enriched as possible. I believe that enhancing the curriculum with technology will enable my students to go further academically.
My Project
My classroom is a converted space: once 2 small offices, it now houses 30 5th graders and we're squished! We don't have a closet to store our jackets and books, and it is my hope that creating a simulated closet space will allow students a place other than the floor where they can safely leave their belongings each day. It seems unfair that students should have to leave their coats and bags on the floor! This cart will go a long way at getting each child to have a place in the room where their personal items don't interfere with the learning space!
More than half of students from low‑income households
