This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our cross country runners showed tremendous improvement last year. We increased the size of our time five fold, brought home the first team trophies in recent memory, and successfully qualified both the boys and girls team for the State Championships. Many of these first time runners are returning for a second year and an opportunity to improve again!
We would like our home cross country meet to be extra special this year.
This will be possible if we have better communication, a safer environment, and more awards for the participants. Thus, the need for this project and the resources therein.
The food will provide a hospitality room for the coaches and visiting teams to enjoy. The powdered drink will provide much needed electrolytes as we continue to battle unprecedented heat. The folding table is important as we have to transport materials over to the golf course where we compete, and we need something to put the food on top of. The solar power charging station is important as we compete at a golf course without access to outlets, and the foam rollers will allow our team to remain injury free and warm up in a safe manner. Speaking of safety, we have a pop up tent, and the sand bags will ensure that it does not fly away and hurt a spectator. The medals and neck ribbons will also allow us to give that something special for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons instead of simply ribbons.
