Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having a dramatic kitchen play area will create an enriching learning environment for our preschool students as it will give them the opportunities to develop language, social skills and enhance their fine motor skills. They will foster creativity through pretend play and problem solving. Preschool students will begin to understand basic concepts like cooking, cleaning and organizing. It is a fun way for children to practice daily life skills in meaningful and hands- on activities. The dramatic kitchen area can support our children cognitive development by problem solving, support critical thinking skills while gaining educational and therapeutic benefits. The dramatic kitchen area can help our students with sensory stimulation which will incorporate various textures, colors and smells that engage different senses supporting sensory processing needs. Also, it will help our students with life skills development as it offers an opportunity for students to practice life skills such as measuring and cleaning, which can be invaluable. Overall, the kitchen area plays a crucial role in promoting imagination, education, and community engagement within a school environment.
