Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at an inner-city elementary school as a 5th grade teacher. While my classroom consists of general ed students, 10 out of 29 of them are ELLs. The majority of my students are living below the poverty line, and all students receive breakfast at school.

I have an amazing group of 5th graders this year!

My students are ambitious and eager to learn. They know who they are and work hard to maintain good grades. The motivation and enthusiasm each student brings into our classroom have transformed us into a learning community.

I would love the honor of spreading a little joy and lifting the burden off of parents who are struggling financially, by surprising my students with a special gift for the holidays. We all know how difficult it has been for many families to make ends meet with all the challenges during this COVID-19 season. I need your support to help spread a little joy.

My Project

My students are well deserving. They have set goals for themselves and are working so hard to meet them, however the stress level is real at home and in school as families continue to adjust to the changes COVID-19 brings.

Your generosity will help my students relax and unwind this holiday season as they use their gifts for family enjoyment, bonding and de-stressing.

This holiday surprise will put a grand smile on their faces. I would love to gift them a little unexpected fun. A package filled with goodies such as slime, fidget toys, Uno cards and a little sweet treat will surely put a little more joy in their hearts.

I am also requesting a mobile whiteboard to help with small group instruction.
