Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are determined to succeed at any task presented to them. They love to help out in the classroom. They are learning how to advocate for themselves. My students sometimes feel their teachers aren't thinking about them and their futures. Showing acts of kindness and consideration let my students know I'm thinking about them. We work on building a sense of community in our classroom.

My Project

My students depend on their school community for their daily well being. My students receive free breakfast and lunch, as well as, social and emotional learning lessons, therapeutic groups, and free hygiene and school supplies. Free dental care and health screening are offered by our community partner hospital. So when school closes down for the winter break, all these resources are also closed down.

I'd like to give my morning homeroom students fully packed holiday stockings for their winter break of the 2021-22 school year.

These stocking will provide cheer. They are a reminder to my students that we will still be at school after the break. The holiday stockings will show they are cared about and will be thought about over the winter break.

This project asks for enough gift items to make 24 holiday stockings. Each will have a personalized name on it. It will be stuffed with pens, pencils, gloves, granola bars, and fun fidgets.
