My Students

I see over 600 hundred students from ages 5-12 every week. They come to the TAB (teaching artistic behavior) studio to learn how to become artists. We have a very active "Center" type of art studio in which students can choose what type of art is most exciting and motivating to them.

When my students enter the room they are very exciting to to pick from centers such as drawing, collage, painting, building, textiles, sculpture and "special project."

I do not dictate what their art should look like, I guide them into becoming the type of artist they want to be.

My Project

With these special art supplies every student will have the opportunity to make a one of a kind Holiday Gnome as a decoration, ornament or gift for a special loved one. They will combine these items with items that they already use in the art room (like paint and glue) to make a unique keepsake.

The paint brush bristles will be the gnomes beard, the handle will be uniquely painted to make a gnome hat with a hole in it to add ribbon for hanging, and the wooden beads will be glued on as a cute gnome nose.
