Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students are amazing human beings! They are full of life and have endless potential to do so many wonderful things. My school is a Title I school in a poverty-stricken community. Our school receives a grant that allows every child to have free breakfast and lunch served at school due to food insecurities at home. Many of our parents struggle to help meet the needs of school supplies and the needs of their children. Regardless of these circumstances, my students overcome! They are learning how to face challenges and grow stronger academically, socially and emotionally preparing them for the next level of life.
I believe that these students deserve every opportunity this world has to offer and I am determined to help them get it.
These students can change the world with their brilliant minds and can climb out of the cycle of poverty through the gift of education. They will learn that the world is theirs for the taking with hard work, dedication, and knowledge.
My Project
Books give cultural awareness! They give readers an opportunity to go on adventures they might never have the opportunity to do on their own! From flying unicorns to visiting an Italian country, books can take you anywhere!
Students must see their culture to understand who they are!
That's why I created this third project. The books chosen are specific to the melting pot of cultural holidays my ALL students in our classroom. To be inclusive of everyone's holiday culture, we chose these books to help students read about characters that like themselves are sharing their culture through holidays. Readers want to read books that are relatable to themselves. I believe these books can help accomplish that goal.
Thank you for supporting me and countless kids for years to come!
