Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very special, kindergarteners in a high needs area of a borough in New York. Each student is unique in his or her own way and deserves to have the best educational experience possible. Most of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch and come to school every day eager to learn.

Unfortunately, my classroom does not always have the supplies we need.

Every donation makes a difference in my students' lives. I look forward to creating projects that will make our classroom a joyful learning environment. Thank you!

My Project

My students and their families have been feeling the impact of COVID-19, as many have. With the many challenges of virtual learning, students now more than ever need to feel connected to their teachers to stay motivated in school. Every time my students come to pick up materials, I put little pick-me-ups in their material bags to help them feel like there is still an adult at school who cares about them and believes in them. My hope is that I will be able to share holiday gifts with my students that continue to assure them that they are the most special people in the world.

I want to help my students find joy this holiday season by providing them with gifts that they will enjoy, that will remind them of how sweet our classroom learning environment is, and that will make them feel loved even though they are not in school.

Every child deserves to feel loved and to receive something special that will bring a smile to their faces and joy to their hearts.
