Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a diverse and high poverty population. They are hardworking and enthusiastic about learning. Every day, they come to school despite hardships and engage in rigorous instruction. Our students take pride in our school. We are their extended family and they count on us to educate and guide them everyday. We have a large group of immigrant students. They are in our classrooms with little or no English skills. Despite their struggles, we perform at a high level.

My Project

This project will help with our Holiday Book exchange. I will be wrapping and delivering a book for all my students. This will bring the opportunity to help give a book to read at home. During these complicated days, I can't think of a better way to bring a smile to a child. The gift of a book will bring them opportunities and hope to continue to learn.

These books will bring joy to a child during the Holiday season.

All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. They are popular high-interest books that I know they will love. Students will be able to choose books, which will help continue to promote engagement and boost their reading skills.

With these new books, my students will be able to read at home and build their own library. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading.
